Roselawn Chimes in the Tower of Memories to be Revived

Dick Lichtfeld expressed an interest in seeing the 24 Deagam chimes operated by the two-octave Wangerin Organ in the Roselawn Cemetery's Tower of Memories be made operational again. The cemetery currently broadcasts recorded music from the tower but the music is not created by the chimes and organ.

In July Board members visited the Tower and heard about its history from James and Tim Stanley (former and current Cemetery managers). Dick and Bill Podell examined the chimes and organ. The cemetery gave them permission to remove the chimes and organ to Dick's workshop where they are making the necessary repairs. HBGHS will host a concert in the Spring when the equipment has been re-installed in the Tower.

Frost Woods article in Wisconsin Magazine of History

Not only did the Frost Woods Homes Association celebrate its 75th Anniversary on Sept 10th but Mary Ellen Gabriel wrote an article for the Autumn 2011 issue of the Wisconsin Magazine of History about the "forgotten tale of Frost's Woods." It is a heavily illustrated 13-page article about Charles E. Brown and the Lake Monona Wildlife Sanctuary Association's efforts to create an "outdoor museum and perpetual campground for groups of traveling Winnebago Indians".
