HGBHS Volunteers are honored in Madison resolution

After visiting the Dean House and being impressed by its historical furnishings, Madison Dist. 16 Alder Judy Compton asked the Parks Commission and the City Council to honor the work of Bob Bean and all the volunteers who have worked so hard over the years to restore and maintain the Dean House.

The resolution was unanimously adopted by the Parks Board on March 8th and by the City Council

on March 21. Mayor Dave Cieslewicz presented the resolution as a framed plaque at the council meeting. HBGHS President Gloria Simley thanked the Parks Board and Bob Bean, dressed in his historical costume, received the plaque and thanked the Mayor and City Council.

The resolution read, in part. in recognition of the volunteer work performed by the Historic Blooming Grove Historical Society ... RESOLVED that the volunteer work ....is hereby recognized. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Madison Board of Park Commissioners applauds the spirit of volunteerism that has supported the efforts ... FURTHER ... that the Common Council of the City of Madison joins the ...Board of Park Commissioners in congratulating Mr. Bean and the Historic Blooming Grove Historical Society for their hard work and dedication to this City of Madison Parks Landmark.

The plaque is on display at the Dean House. Stop by and read their kind words, especially if you have been involved in the work of the Dean House over the years.
