For more than 20 years, free public concerts on the lawn behind the Dean House have been a part of summer evenings in southeast Madison. Known as the Back Porch Concerts, the weekly Thursday evening events bring a variety of musical talent to those who come to listen and lounge on the lawn. Concerts begin at 7:15 and end at sunset. It is a tradition of the Historic Blooming Grove Historical Society that the final concert of the season begins with an ice cream social. Donations and the sale of softdrinks and popcorn at the concerts benefit the Dean House. |
